Isaiah 55:8

September 21, 2011

“’For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways’, says the Lord.”

I first read this verse and thought to myself, “Duh! Of course we don’t think the same thoughts as God, thanks for stating the obvious Isaiah”.  God’s cognitive actions are unfathomable to our finite minds.  Just as a newborn child cannot begin to understand a parent’s thought process, likewise; we are like that newborn child and God is the parent.  He disciplines us when we turn away, but He loves us enough to take us back when we repent of our pleasure-seeking ways and run hard after Him.  Jesus came down to earth and modeled a perfect life for us to mimic and look to for guidance in our actions.
In applying this I will strive to become more Christ-like in everything I do.
