“Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.”
In our culture is it necessary to prove yourself in order to be taken seriously with something. You cannot just say, “I’m going to build a house” if you’ve never picked up a hammer. In order for someone to take your claims seriously you have to validate your credibility. The Lord was giving the Apostles power that they might go into the Earth and make disciples. The fear of God was instilled in all who saw the works of the apostles through the power of the Holy Spirit which came upon them. The Lord gave them power to do great works that the people would believe their witness and that their claims of Christ’s love might be validated.
In applying this I will let my life be the validation of Christ’s love and everything he’s done for me.
