“So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,”
The early church continued to walk in the way of the Lord and obey His’ law. They didn’t come down from the “spiritual high” they were on and have their zeal just sizzle out. They continued to fellowship in the temple and partaking of communion. It is important to stay fervent for the sake of the gospel, and not to just sputter out as time goes on. The race that Paul talks about running in 1 Corinthians 9:24; it’s imperative that we run to win, not to just finish. No one plays a sport to loose, everyone has the same mindset, they want to run to win and get the prize. Likewise we should continue in our race with the same fervency we began with so that we might finish with the prize in mind, which is Jesus Christ.
In applying this I will pray for a renewed zeal for the race we are called to run.
