“Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common,”
Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 6:14, “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteous with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?” Paul makes it clear that is important to be around like minded individuals. If a person stands on a chair and tries to pull a person up onto the chair, they will find it is a lot easier to pull the person down off the chair than it is to pull that other person up. Likewise it is much easier for us to get pulled down by the world than it is for us to pull them up out of their sinful ways. This is the exact reason that Paul tells us not to be unequally yoked that we may not be brought down by the evil ways of the world.
